Scope and Contents: The logbook contains entries for two separate voyages on the Ship Daniel Sharp, 1855-1857. The first entry kept in diary form by Joseph Davis Cushing, 1st officer of the ship from August 23, 1855 to October 5, 1856 details a voyage, commanded by Captain Parker, from Boston to Penang and ports in the East Indies and back to Boston. Scope and Contents: The logbook kept in diary form of three separate voyages on two different ships. William Cushing letters consist of three letters written to captain Cushing. Two of the letters, 1860 and 1862 were written by Dossabhoy Meerwanjee & Co. of Bombay, India regarding business transactions. The third letter was written by Boston, Massachusetts merchant Thomas Lamb with instructions to Captain Cushing regarding the sale of lumber at the Isle of Mauritius and return cargo of sugar for the Boston...
